Why teams use it

Three things a product review costs you today

With Complify AI

A legal source for every verdict

Each substance and claim gets a verdict: permitted, restricted, prohibited or needs further analysis, with its legal source, regulation version and effective date.

Time

Weeks before a launch can go ahead

A manual review of one product for one market takes days to weeks, and it is repeated for every new market and every reformulation.

Law-firm turnaround, 2 to 10 working days per product and market. [FOUNDER INPUT: source for 2 to 10 working days (#15)]

Cost

Hundreds of euros per product, per market

Law-firm and consultancy price lists start at about €200 per product and market in the Czech Republic, and run higher in Western Europe. [FOUNDER INPUT: confirm €200 figure and attribution (#15)]

Czech and Western-European price lists, 2024 to 2025.

Currency

A review that is only current on the day it is issued

EU law leaves room for national rules on substances, limits, labelling and notification, so 27 national rule sets sit on top of it and keep changing.

Directive 2002/46/EC, Art. 4(7) and 11(2); Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Art. 39.

Escalation

Items a lawyer should see go to a lawyer

Items that need a lawyer move to expert review in the same workflow.

How it works

One product, one market, one run of the engine.

  1. Step 1: Product data in

You enter the product as it is: ingredients, forms, doses, claims and the label. Names in any language are mapped to the canonical substance and form.

  2. Step 2: Rules and expert modules run

A rule layer applies explicit, versioned decision rules written with lawyers. Domain expert modules for chemistry, biology, toxicology and nutrition answer the scientific questions. Agentic workflows run them per substance, and a verification layer checks every statement against its source.

  3. Step 3: Audit-ready report out

Each substance and claim gets a verdict: permitted, restricted, prohibited or needs further analysis. Every statement carries its legal source, regulation version and effective date. Items that need a lawyer are escalated in the same workflow.

Needs further analysisexpert review by a specialist or the partner law firm

Rules decide; the language model only prepares and checks inputs.

Assurance

Three levels of assurance, one workflow

Choose how far a question should go.

Automated screening

Live today

Automated screening

The engine returns a verdict for every substance and claim, with the deciding rule and its source.

You receive

  • Report in PDF and Excel
  • Citation, version and effective date per statement
  • Items marked "needs further analysis"

Automated screening is a compliance-support tool, not legal advice.

Expert-reviewed assessment

Available on request

Expert-reviewed assessment

A regulatory specialist or a lawyer from our partner law firm reviews the flagged items and the report. [FOUNDER INPUT: who performs tier 2 (#6)]

You receive

  • Reviewed report
  • Reviewer notes on each flagged item
  • Updated verdicts

A review supports your decision; it is not a formal legal opinion.

Formal legal opinion

Coming soon

Formal legal opinion

Once launched, Havel & Partners will issue a formal legal opinion on the escalated question, with any conditions that apply. Until then, expert review covers escalated items.

You receive

  • Signed opinion as PDF
  • Conditions for placing the product on the market
  • Verdicts updated in the platform

Issued under the law firm's professional responsibility and billed by the law firm.

How the tiers and escalation work

Audiences

Who it is for

For brands, contract manufacturers, retailers and their advisers.

  • Brands and manufacturers

Screen the whole portfolio per market; take only open questions to a lawyer.

    Portfolio screening
    What gets in the way

Every new product, market or reformulation restarts the review.

  • Contract manufacturers

One structured assessment per product and market, exportable for each client.

    Export per client
    What gets in the way

You carry many clients' formulations into many markets at once.

  • Retailers and marketplaces

A documented, citable check before a product is listed.

    Check before listing
    What gets in the way

Own-brand and third-party listings put the responsibility for the product on you.

  • Law firms and regulatory consultants

Use the engine for screening and validation; your sign-off stays yours.

    Screening + validation
    What gets in the way

Triage takes the hours that should go into judgement.

  • Regulators

The same engine and audit trail can serve supervision. No authority is a customer today.

    Same audit trail
    What gets in the way

Checking products on the market at portfolio scale needs the same rules and the same trail.

  • A partner of the firm sits on the Complify AI strategy board
  • Coverage: Czech Republic and Slovakia

[FOUNDER INPUT: confirm wording for other markets, e.g. "Other markets are served through partner law firms." (#4)]

TCF Capital

TCF Capital is an investor in Complify AI and funded the development of the first product. An investment director of TCF Capital sits on the strategy board.
